Anyone heard of cameradollars.com, a site that sells an ebook/system on how to make money taking digital pics?
The price is only $39.97 and there is a money back guarantee. (The site is a valued member of "Honest e online" for whatever that's worth.) I'm a hobby photographer and stumbled across this while searching for some information about pet photography, which I'm considering as a way to earn extra income.
Here is the best advice I can give you.
I went pro back in the days of film. A good camera was very expensive as well as film and processing. I did mostly weddings at a $1,000 just to shoot it. Yes I made a ton of money.
Then I got monumentally bored with the whole thing, plus having a family, etc, I quit the business.
Back then, being a pro really meant something.
About 4 years ago I felt as if digital had finally come on its own, so I purchased a good digital, a few lenses, flash equipment, etc and went back into business and folded within a month. While I'll admit I did not have the passion for it like I did 20 years before, nevertheless, I realized, with every Tom, Dick and Sally saying they are pro's and shooting every bit as good as I did in the past, I'd say the business is considerably harder to break into.
The reason is simple, the learning curve has been reduced significantly. We can now get instant feedback to see if a shoot is good or not. Before it took hours or days at expense. Now, once the equipment and software is purchased, there is no out of pocket expense, labor or waiting to see results.
I'm not trying to discourage you, I am merely pointing out the realities.
Also, in the end, I had lost my passion, and my love for photography. The last thing I wanted to do was shoot for pleasure. It took me a decade to even want to pick up a camera. It now makes sense to me why many auto mechanics don't maintain their own cars. Or gardeners have weed infested yards.
