a radio station brocasts weather all 18 minutes and another station brocasts one every 15 minutes of trading. If stations brocast both weather forecasting and trading at midday when is tha next time tboth be transmitted at the same time? and this, McKenzie, bead making necklaces.He has 90 accounts and 108 green blue beads. What is the highest number of identical necklces you may want to use all the accounts? plz help!
Problem 1: Which are really asking, is what is the LCM (lowest common multiple) of 18 minutes and 15 minutes .... you must find the factors of both 18 and 15 ... 18 = 2 x 3 x 3 ... LCM should be at least 2 x 3 x 3 15 = 3 x 5 .... the factor of "3" already explained above in "18 ".... but not the "5" ... Thus LCM = 2 x 3 x 3 x 5 = 18 x 5 = 90 minutes .... Beginning at 12 hours .... After 90 minutes have elapsed, the time will be 1:30 pm so at 1:30 pm, two will be released at the same time. Problem 2: Now, to find the same necklaces many others ... find factors of 90 and 108 90 = 2 x 3 x 3 x 5 108 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 3 How you get the most necklaces is to have less accountability in the Collier What are the common factors between 90 and 108? 90 = 2 x 3 x 3 x 5 108 = 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 3 Both have a 2 ... then they have two 3 .... So there will be 2 x 3 x 3 = 18 necklaces. Now, what are the factors that are left, for example 90, is the number of green beads in each necklace ... and what are the factors of 108 is the number of blue beads in each necklace. From necklaces identical # = 2 x 3 x 3 = 18 identical necklaces ... # Of green beans in each = 5 # necklace of blue beads in each necklace = 6 .... for a total of 11 accounts each necklace ... (5 green and 6 blue) Basically what has done is the gross capital formation ... greatest common factor of both 90 and 108 ....
